Capshaw Baptist Church Harvest, Alabama, United States Denomination: Baptist Church Size: 751 to 1000 Job Type: Full-Time RESPONSIBLE TO: Senior Pastor and Ministry Team PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Children’s Ministry (K-6th grade) and parents HOURS: Salaried, Full-Time; 40-45 Hours per week QUALIFICATIONS: A born-again baptized believer in agreement with the Church’s vision, structure, strategy, values, and beliefs. Called by God to gospel ministry to Capshaw and the Tennessee Valley area Must be in agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message, 2000. Minimum of a college degree in Ministry from an accredited college or university. Experience in children’s ministries. Experienced in communicating effectively with parents and training them to lead their child to Christ. Experienced in teaching with a desire to further develop these skills. Able to take the initiative as a self-starter. Must be able to lead teams effectively, to raise up new leaders at a rapid rate and to communicate clearly. Willing to serve as a team member of the church staff working toward the health and growth of the congregation as a whole. SKILLS: Spiritual gifts in and a passion for teaching children and equipping their parents in obedience of the Gospel of Christ Proven leadership ability Organizing, Scheduling and Team Building Ability to lead others while serving them with humility Passion and vision for developing and growing a Children’s Ministry Computer skills, including Social Media - able to effectively use web based curriculum PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Oversee all aspects of the Children’s Ministry (K-6 grade) including Sunday and Wednesday services and seasonal special events A. Responsible for creating and overseeing an effective plan to make fully devoted followers of Jesus through Community. B. Organizes yearly events. (camps, lock-ins, discipleship weekends, special event, etc.) C. Evaluate new and/or update current children programs. D. Work closely with Preschool Director and Student Pastor to ensure excellence in ministry. E. Lead bi-monthly teacher training events. F. Oversee volunteer recruitment within the Children’s Ministry. G. Provide recommendations on curriculum that embraces vision and direction of the church. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Communicate with parents the vision of the children’s ministry 2. Equip parents for shepherding their child into salvation REQUIREMENTS: 1. Upon acceptance of position become a member of Capshaw Baptist 2. Keep regular office hours during the week 3. Maintain a “beyond reproach” testimony both in church activity attendance and giving 4.
