William Douglas Davidson, native of Butler County, died Sept. 24. He was 77. Davidson was assistant pastor and minister of music at several Alabama churches, including Southside Baptist Church, Birmingham, and Vestavia Hills Baptist Church and most recently First Church, Austin, Texas. He received degrees from Samford University and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
