NAMB, FBC Woodstock announce big changes

Johnny Hunt is transitioning out of his role as pastor of First Baptist Church, Woodstock, to become the new senior vice president of evangelism and leadership for the North American Mission Board (NAMB). Hunt made the announcement today (Aug. 26) and noted that a transitional co-pastor for the church will preach in view of a call on Sept. 16.

Hunt plans to officially be full time in his new position with NAMB by 2019 and will work with the new co-pastor and church during the next few months of transition.

Also, Jim Law, who has served as executive pastor of First, Woodstock, for nearly 28 years, will begin serving at NAMB as the executive director of evangelism and leadership group on Oct. 1. He will handle day-to-day leadership for the group while Hunt casts vision, stirs passion for evangelism among Southern Baptists and mobilizes pastors and churches, according to NAMB.
