Elizabeth Anne Beasley, a member of First Baptist Church, Eufaula, has been competing in pageants since she was in the sixth grade, and July 10, the rising high school sophomore will be on stage again.
As the 2009 Miss Teen Alabama-World, Beasley will compete for the crown of Miss Teen United States-World in Houston.
“Whether I am dancing, speaking, giving interviews or whatever else I do, I offer everything as a homemade offering to God,” she said. “When I got this title, I prayed that He would use me.”
Beasley is actively involved in her Barbour Baptist Association church through youth choir and missions trips.
Through her social-cause platform “Fitting” In, Beasley said, “I talk to girls about how to deal with those pressures (to be thin). I encourage them to eat healthy, exercise regularly and accept their body image. When they do those things, then they won’t feel the need to fit into that false body image.”
The winner of the Miss Teen United States-World Pageant will garner a spot in the Miss Teen World Pageant in Houston in August.
