September 10, 2009
Members of Walkers Chapel Baptist Church, Fultondale, participated in three missions projects this summer.
This was the 16th year for the Birmingham Baptist Association church to assist with World Changers in Fultondale by hosting and providing meals for participating churches in July.
Nineteen church members traveled to Monroe, Ohio, July 18–25 to work with Builders for Christ at First Baptist Church, Monroe.
The team, which joined a church from Maryland and First Baptist Church, Pinson, in Birmingham Association, worked on mudding Sheetrock in the new 10,000-square-foot building, preparing it to be painted. Walkers Chapel Baptist is planning to do more work with Builders for Christ this fall.
Harold Adair, a Walkers Chapel member, went to Romania July 30–Aug. 9 to assist in building a chapel. This marked the seventh consecutive year for a church member to do missions work in the country.
“There’s something you can do for Jesus everywhere,” Pastor Dan Nichols said.
