Judson Baptist Association (JBA) recently completed construction of a new building to house a ministry center aimed at meeting the needs of the Hispanic community.
The ministry originally was housed in the youth building of First Baptist Church, Abbeville, which hosted Hispanic worship services until the building was destroyed by a tornado in 2003.
The work moved to the JBA grounds with two mobile chapels provided by the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions that the association eventually purchased.
But in 2008, JBA had a dream to move the ministry into a permanent building, according to Director of Missions George Thompson. Work began in April of that year, and in recent months, the ministry has been up and running in the building.
In September, the Christian Ministry Center gave out 154 boxes of food. “We have some of the greatest people in Henry County working hard to serve the needs of Henry County,” Thompson said. (TAB)
