Cropwell Baptist Church on missioncomment (0)

December 3, 2009

Fifteen Alabama Baptists were among 25 people who traveled to Cuzco, Peru, Oct. 9–18 with e3 Partners, a ministry dedicated to equipping, evangelizing and establishing new works for Christ’s Kingdom.

The team included six people from First Baptist Church, Pell City; five from Cropwell Baptist Church; and one from Eden Westside Baptist Church, Pell City, all in St. Clair Baptist Association, and three from Union Hill Baptist Church, Oneonta, in Friendship Baptist Association. The women’s ministry of Cropwell Baptist collected sunglasses and flip-flops for team members to distribute in Cuzco, and the children at Eden Westside Baptist collected money to purchase Spanish Bibles that were distributed during the trip.

The team, which also included people from Georgia, Michigan, South Carolina and Florida, was split into 11 smaller teams doing door-to-door evangelism in 11 villages and areas in and around Cuzco. The teams made more than 850 gospel presentations, saw 445 people make salvation decisions and made

follow-up visits to 221 of those people. More than 400 people came to the group discipleship meetings held in the evenings.

“We may go thinking about what we’re going to bring to Cuzco, but what we’re reminded about is how blessed we are and about what God is already doing in Cuzco,” said Melody Jones, a team member from Cropwell Baptist who is an e3 Partners’ church-planting coordinator.
