Grand Bay’s Friendship names Howard pastor emerituscomment (0)

“I have a definite calling from the Lord in life to preach the gospel,” Robbie Howard said. Members of Friendship Baptist Church, Grand Bay, can testify to that.
Howard spent nearly 20 of his 52 years of preaching as pastor of their Mobile Baptist Association church. Though he still preaches as a supply preacher and at revivals and is available to serve interim pastorates, Howard recently retired to Grand Bay.
And Sept. 26, Friendship Baptist honored him with the title “pastor emeritus.”
Longtime friends and co-workers reminisced about his ministry at a service that evening. Howard’s love for witnessing was highlighted when Pastor Teddie Turrentine asked those who had been won to Christ through his ministry to stand.
“The Lord has used Robbie to impact the Friendship family in many ways but perhaps none greater than his leading in the area of evangelism — personal and corporate,” Turrentine said. “He loves to witness and see folks accept Jesus as their personal Savior, follow Jesus in believer’s baptism and be discipled. ... We are delighted that he has chosen to spend his ‘retirement’ years in Grand Bay and as a part of the Friendship family as our pastor emeritus,” Turrentine said.
