University of Mobile students sing at White Housecomment (0)

Two University of Mobile (UM) vocal ensembles performed at the White House Dec. 20, 2006. The Voices of Mobile ensemble and the RamTonz men’s quartet performed while guests toured the president’s home and viewed its Christmas decorations.
The groups continue to gain more notoriety both nationally and in the state. This is the second consecutive year that Voices has been recognized nationally with an invitation to perform at the White House. It is the first invitation for RamTonz. Both also appeared in an hour-and-a-half television presentation on Mobile’s WALA television station on Christmas morning, taped earlier during UM’s Christmas Spectacular concert.
Both groups are under the direction of Al Miller, assistant professor of music and senior academic fellow in the UM Center for Performing Arts. (UM)
