Volunteers from Hunter Street Baptist Church, Hoover, pass out free meals during a block party in New Orleans as part of Crossover on June 16. Hunter Street’s youth choir and band also performed.
Crossover is an evangelistic event coordinated by the North American Mission Board, local associations and churches that precedes the Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting.
This year churches hosted 38 block parties around metro New Orleans as well as doing door-to-door evangelism and other special events.
Hunter Street’s volunteers joined efforts with Celebration Church in New Orleans and were among more than 1,500 volunteers from 59 churches that helped at least 870 people make decisions for Christ.
