The Alabama Baptist said: Nearly 670,000 people signed up to participate in yesterday’s Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day ... in Alabama alone, sales were said to have quadrupled, with stores having to order more food in the middle of the day. What do you think believers should take away from the message and action that was seen [Aug. 1]?
I had chills as I stood there in line, sweating, wondering why we always seem to wait for either an invitation or a bully’s challenge to stand together in unity ... as the body of Christ when we know that we can do ALL things through Him. We have to GET UP, GET OUT and GO DO whether that’s vote or serve or stand for what’s right every day. We are living in the last days, and it won’t get any easier. Soldiers of Christ, let’s pray for and demonstrate unity every day!
That we can unite over even greater Christian issues that are at hand, glorifying God with our commitment to His commission He has given each of us.
What would happen if we showed the same unity in a lack of support for those companies that embrace non-biblical principles? And not just on the issue this controversy was centered on. We really could take back our world for Christ.

Take that same passion and apply [it] to the everyday Christian walk and not when we are just offended. I would love to see the churches packed out like that on Sunday.
I was proud to be there. I would like to see the same lines and crowds this Sunday in churches everywhere. “God Appreciation Day!” Let’s get excited for Jesus Christ in His house as well as the marketplace and everywhere we go.

I was wondering all day long why my Christian brothers and sisters don’t show this same passion for PEOPLE who are HURTING. What would happen if that kind of “rallying” energy were put into adopting kids or ending hunger or treating our neighbor in a brotherly manner? I am afraid that this event was “easy” with minimal investment and these other things require [long-term] investment ... and many, many folks do not like to invest [long-term] even though it is a biblical mandate. Proverbs 21:13 says, “Whoever shuts their ears to the cry of the poor will also cry out and not be answered.” James 1:27 talks about orphans and widows “in distress.” Where are the lines to help them?

I hope the [Chick-fil-A Christians] will have to ride around the block to find a parking place at their churches this Sunday morning! And that they will be willing to do it!

Praying that this will be the beginning of a great revival among Christians, and that we will show our Christian convictions on a daily basis, not just once in a while and on certain days.
