By Pastor Brad Doss

Grace Baptist Church, Fayette

I can’t imagine what he must have been through. From the time he was born, he had been blind. He had never known what a spring day looked like, nor had he seen his mother and father’s face. It was OK with him; he had grown up normal other than his blindness. He played and later found a job doing little things. He was growing up but still had questions on why he was born blind. Many blamed the parents, some even blamed him, but nevertheless he was blind and chose to simply live his life.

Well one day all that changed. Jesus saw him and stopped. Along with Him were many of His disciples who were talking about the man’s blindness. As they all stopped, Jesus knelt down and made some mud with His spit and rubbed it on the blind man’s eyes. After He was through He told him to go and wash his eyes. We are told that the man received his sight. He could see. For the first time he saw his parents, his friends as well as a bright spring day. Oh the joy, he could see.

Leaders and others in authority came to him several times asking him, “What happened for you to receive your sight?” “Who did this?” You see all he knew is that once he was blind, but now he sees.

Let me ask you — “Are you today ready to see?” Jesus is right in front of you and for the most part you can’t see Him. We are too busy doing things that really just don’t matter too much. He is right in front of you — can you see Him? Are you ready to see Jesus?

If you are, pray this prayer:

“I see clearly that you are the Son of God. I believe that you died for my sin and rose from the grave. I want you to be Lord of my life. Heal me. Change me. Make new brand new, so that I can live for you.”

If you prayed that prayer find a Baptist church and tell the pastor you just got saved.
