Former Alabama Baptist Donna Gaines, who recently wrote “Leaving Ordinary: Encounter God Through Extraordinary Prayer,” shares about her path of learning that “prayer is our lifeline.” She and her husband, Steve, pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church, Cordova, Tenn., and former pastor of Gardendale First Baptist Church, were guest speakers for a fellowship dinner and Q&A time at Eastmont Baptist Church, Montgomery, Feb. 24. Around 200 people attended the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions-sponsored event prior to the opening session of the State Evangelism Conference.
Donna Gaines used the example of the tabernacle (altar, lampstands, etc.) as a guide to teach readers how to interact with God and grow in true intimacy with Him.
“The only way I can know the path God has for me is to spend time with Him in that quiet place,” she told those in attendance, who all received a copy of the book. (Neisha Fuson)
