Robert Shelton Holliman, a retired Alabama Baptist minister of music, died Jan. 14. He was 90.

Born in Fayette County, Holliman began his ministry in 1955 as minister of music at First Baptist Church, Pell City, in St. Clair Baptist Association.

Other churches he served full time include Southside Baptist, Decatur; Philadelphia Baptist, Birmingham; and First Baptist, Elba.

After retiring from First, Elba, Holliman served several other churches in south Alabama as interim or part-time music minister.

At times, he worked as an education or youth minister in addition to his music duties.

Holliman was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Wilson Holliman.

He is survived by his second wife, Evelyn Reeves Holliman; one son; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two stepsons. (TAB)
