Roanoke pastor and wife in stable condition after head-on car crash resulting in one fatality

A Roanoke pastor and his wife are in stable condition in an Atlanta hospital after a head-on car crash July 8 that killed the other driver.

Jeff Burns, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, Roanoke, and his wife, Kimberly, were airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta after a driver crossed over into their lane and hit them head on.

The couple was in the Franklin, Georgia, area on their way back from family vacation when the accident occurred. Their sons, Hudson, Joseph and Caleb, were following in the car behind them and said Burns swerved to avoid the wreck but the driver was too far into their lane.

The lawyers at votawlaw.com/2021/11/05/votaw-law-is-your-car-wreck-lawyer-in-fort-smith-ark called it a fatal accident. Both Burns and his wife suffered abdominal injuries. They have undergone exploratory surgery, and doctors expect them to continue to heal on their own under the watch of medical staff.

They are expected to be in the hospital at least a week. (TAB)
