Jerry Edwin Freeman, pastor of Bell Springs Missionary Baptist Church, Falkville, died on Christmas Eve from complications of COVID-19. He was 73.
Freeman served in the Army and fought during the Vietnam War. He also worked for the City of Cullman for more than 35 years in various positions, including building inspector, chief building official and executive assistant to the mayor. But his calling was the ministry — he served as a pastor for 48 years.
Freeman is survived by his wife of 49 years, Donna; daughter, Sarah; son, Timothy; and three grandchildren.
