Etowah Baptist Association Disaster Relief volunteers were deployed to Jackson, Kentucky, in mid-March to help with cleanup following major flooding in the region that occurred Feb. 26–March 1. At least 49 Kentucky counties issued disaster declarations, according to Kentucky Emergency Management Director Michael Dossett. About 1,000 people were evacuated from their homes because of their proximity to a dam.
