Larry Wilhite, pastor of First Baptist Church, Tarrant, died Nov. 9. He was 77.
A Birmingham native Wilhite spent his early life in Jacksonville, Florida. He served in the National Guard and worked in banking before attending Southeastern Bible College where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Bible and theology.
He taught in Christian schools and pastored several churches. He had served at First, Tarrant, since 2013.
An avid archer Wilhite was chaplain of Alabama Society of Traditional Bowmen.
Wilhite is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carolyn; two children; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. (TAB)
