Modern hymn writers Keith and Kristyn Getty will bring their “Facing a Task Unfinished” Tour to Lakeview Baptist Church, Auburn, on Sept. 24.
The Gettys released an album of the same name in June 2016. The title track is a modern rewriting of a 1931 hymn propelling believers to missions.
The Gettys led a global hymn-sing of the hymn Feb. 21, 2016. An estimated 1.1 million people sang the hymn in 100 countries. The tour, which is scheduled to wrap up in early November, also features congregational singing.
The Lakeview concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 5:30. A love offering will be received.
Keith Getty, co-author with Stuart Townend of the popular hymn “In Christ Alone,” also will be the speaker at Lakeview’s worship leadership luncheon, “Hymns, Worship and the Christian life,” which is scheduled to be from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. the day of the concert. There is a registration fee and child care is available.
