James Broox “J.B.” Thompson died Jan. 22. He was 88. Thompson was a longtime pastor, serving churches in Birmingham, Bessemer, Jasper and Walker County. He was preceded in death by his son, James. He is survived by his wife, Bettie; three children; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
