On March 30, The Alabama Baptist (TAB) joined forces with magician David Garrard, gospel trio New Ground, comedian Mickey Bell and songwriter and comedian Aaron Wilburn at Calvary Baptist Church, Wetumpka.
The evening was made possible by Alfa Insurance, Auburn AV, The River and The Baptist Foundation of Alabama.
The purpose of the event was to bring a night of laughter and encouragement to a town that experienced a damaging tornado in mid-January. Many buildings, churches and homes sustained damage — some were destroyed.
TAB plans to offer the community of Beauregard a similar event to help with healing from the deadly March 3 tornado that ripped through Lee County.
TAB also is working out the details to develop a special concert series similar to the March 30 event so associations and churches can bring this fun night of Christian entertainment to their communities.
