SBC’s Greear leads US House in prayer

On Sept. 25, Southern Baptist Convention President J.D. Greear opened the afternoon legislative session of the House of Representatives with a time of prayer on Capitol Hill.

“May You grant that this body rule in a way that directs the men, women and children of the country toward Your goodness and enables them in thankfulness to You,” he prayed. “May we perceive the love that You have for us and may that translate into love for one another, especially the most vulnerable.”

Greear’s trip to the U.S. Capitol also included meetings with multiple legislators, including Walker, Rep. David Price (D-N.C.), Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) and others.
