TAB staff members participate in Bible reading marathons across the state

As Bible reading marathons took place across the state members of The Alabama Baptist (TAB) staff joined in and read Scripture at every location and at all times of the day.

Executive assistant Cynthia Watts kicked off TAB’s participation by reading at the Dale County Courthouse in Ozark in the early morning hours of April 29. Dale County’s marathon was hosted by the Dale Baptist Association.

Watts also read in Troy on the downtown square. Troy’s marathon was hosted by Salem-Troy Baptist Association.

Content editor Carrie Brown McWhorter read in Heflin at Ross Park. The Heflin marathon was hosted by Cleburne Baptist Association.

Digital editor Hannah Muñoz and her brother Ben read at First Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa, on May 1. The Tuscaloosa marathon was hosted by Hope 4 My City. 

On May 2 financial administrator Linda Harrison read outside the Blount County Court House in Oneonta. The Oneonta marathon was organized by Terri Nelson.

Digital services manager James Hammack read on the steps of the state Capitol in Montgomery on May 3. The Montgomery marathon was hosted by His Vessel Ministries. 

Executive editor Janet Erwin read outside The Abbey coffee shop in the Avondale neighborhood of Birmingham on May 5. The Birmingham event was organized by Ninfa Austin and Sheila Wright.

Other staff members reading in Birmingham were Watts, production manager Jessica Ingram, director of communications Debbie Campbell, customer relations representative Sarah Gill, financial assistant Deb Lowery, advertising manager Melanie McKinney, digital services associate Haley Piersol, outside sales rep Susan Stevens and editor-in-chief Jennifer Davis Rash.

All the Bible readings were held in conjunction with the National Day of Prayer on May 2. (TAB)
